John Ruffini is national practice director of two specialty recruiting businesses. The Mergis Group is a leading professional placement firm that specializes in search and recruitment for positions in finance and accounting, engineering and manufacturing, sales and marketing, legal and human resources. Todays Office Professionals is a premier provider of administrative and office professional placement, delivering a unique candidate and client experience.

Ruffini is responsible for day-to-day business operations and growth of the organization’s permanent placement practice. He has ownership of organizational training and professional development programs, while serving as a mentor to seasoned and rookie recruiters alike. Ruffini is based in Baltimore, Maryland.

Ruffini initially joined The Mergis Group in 2000 to help establish a solid foothold in the Annapolis market as managing director of what was then a fledgling branch. After five years at the helm of the market-leading Annapolis team, he left in 2005 to join Ajilon as a regional director of permanent placement. Most recently, he co-founded his own professional recruiting and career management firm. He rejoined The Mergis Group and Todays Office Professionals in 2010.

Over the course of his career, Ruffini has also been affiliated with Proticon Career Services, Ajilon, Kforce and Information Builders, Inc.

Ruffini is a committee member of the Talbot County Chamber of Commerce and the Chesapeake Regional Technology Council. He is a board member of Upper Shore Workforce Investment Board, coaches the Talbot County Youth Basketball League and is a volunteer for the Easton Middle School Lacrosse Club. His notable media exposure includes a monthly feature on WCEI Easton Maryland Radio discussing employment issues, providing analysis of the staffing industry for Fox45News Baltimore and hosting The Employment Weekly radio program for WBIS Business Radio Baltimore/Annapolis.

Ruffini attended The University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science.
